Directors Brad Fischer and Nathan Firmin have come up with a fresh
approach to make Catchment’s Godspell a must see show. They have
stripped away the dated quintessential ‘70s musical image of flower

in this era.

The beauty salon stage design was striking. With loads of pink and

This adaptation, in English, has been written especially for Lyric

goes for almost three hours including a 20-minute interval. Although
it could have been cut back, the cast never let the energy level
drop and held my interest until the end.

The professional year dancers performed the first dance of the
night. I was entertained, but more by the beautiful music that
accompanied the piece, Ave Maria by Bach and Gounod. A
gorgeous piece that even moves a non-classical listener like me.
